A native of New England, Dr. Tilt graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in History of Science. She ventured south to the University of Virginia, where she earned her medical degree and graduated with honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then spent six years training in Washington, DC in the Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency Program at Georgetown University Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during her final year.
Throughout residency Dr. Tilt engaged in both research and medical innovation; she is the author of over 14 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and she currently has a patent pending on a specialized surgical drape. She has been recognized by the Georgetown faculty for her excellence in clinical skills and by the medical students for her dedication to teaching.
Dr. Tilt is passionate about both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. She understands that reconstruction after cancer is not simply a surgery, it is a journey – and she dedicates herself to accompanying her patients every step of the way. She also appreciates the power of cosmetic surgery to help patients look and feel their best. She has a keen aesthetic eye and focuses on technical excellence with every procedure, both reconstructive and cosmetic.
When not treating patients, Dr. Tilt loves spending time with her husband, a Navy orthopedic surgeon, their two young daughters and yellow lab. Her hobbies include fly fishing, horseback riding, sailing, drawing and painting, and enjoying the outdoors.
